YouTube, the global video platform giant, launched a 15-60 seconds Shorter video version in 2020.

It was considered competition for TikTok, another social media short video application.

According to statistics, people spent 52 minutes on TikTok globally, with 90 percent of its users accessing the application daily.

Americans use Tiktok 33 minutes per day, and it is considered the application with the most engagement rate.

YouTube found an opportunity in the short video segment and launched the YouTube Shorts beta version in September 2020.

It soon became a success and gained wide crowd support.

“Shorts is a short-form video experience for anyone who wants to create short, catchy videos using nothing but their mobile phones.” Chris Jaffe, the VP of Product Management, YouTube.

In March 2021, YouTube expanded its new feature to many countries, including the USA, where TikTok recorded an engagement rate of 1,533 percent between 2017 and 2019.

One of the most famous YouTube Shorts was from five-minute crafts. It was a 30 seconds short video of making soap in the shape of a human foot.

The Short video gained more than 400 million views and 8 million likes. Around 30,000 people posted comments under the video.

As per the stats, YouTube will pay an amount ranging between $100-10,000 every month to the creators based on the video quality.

YouTube believes that the incentive payment can boost the use of its short video version among influencers and creative content makers.

8. YouTube Generated $7 Billion in Advertising Revenue During the Third Quarter of 2021

According to the sales stats, YouTube has generated up to seven billion American dollars in the Q3 of 2021.

By this, Youtube registered 43 percent year-over-year growth in ad revenue. Alphabet, the parent company that owns YouTube and Google, made 65.12 billion American dollars at 41 percent ($27.77 per share).
